How To Bypass Duplicate Content Rules

Copyright 2012 A. Forsberg

It occurred to me quite by accident that I can use content previously published by me, that is – not others – by simply rotating articles. I can’t duplicate someone else’s article unless I simply rewrite it and do a better job but I can make use of the links. Here’s how:

Usually my article gets read most within the first week or so and then the number of people clicking on these links falls. If I then rather re-submit the same article or a revised one I see that more (new) people are clicking on these links.

Usually I do this because I notice a mistake or broken link, etc. and simply want to update the article which is what I did with the last Hub Post. I really did not know at the time that there was another article just like it as one of my Hubs. After both were uploaded and put side by side, I could see that all I have to do to avoid penalties is to simply re-post the exact same article with just a slightly different title.

Now I can get the benefit of new visitors without having to continually write quality articles. As you must know, good article writing is very tedious and time consuming. Now when I do this I make sure that I immediately remove the older article…so there is not really duplicate content for very long. But the benefit is there. Even better it will not look to any follower that I am posting the same old stuff.

As a matter of fact, the article just keeps getting better and better because I am refining it all along the way. And now I have the opportunity to change hyperlinks, etc.

To follow my plan you do have to have a base of about 40 really good articles, and this takes a lot of time. Then overlap 30 or more articles at a time, every two weeks. Maybe this is not clear. What I mean to say is to do it piecemeal – that is, just replace 14 to1 6 articles every week. This will appear as fresh content to some search engines simply because of the date and you will not be penalized for submitting duplicate content, even though that is what you are doing.

My research indicates that there are only a few directories worth submitting to and they are:

1) <del>Hub Pages</del> 2) Scribd 3) Google Docs and 4) SlideShare

It’s pointless to use others because they either do not work right or are not authority sites. For whatever reason, Google seems to love Hub Pages and so do I because 60% of my links come from that source. But I do miss the ability to publish PDF files in Hub Pages which I can do on the other document sites I mentioned.

I recently bought a program called Commission Autopilot which does a fairly good job at helping me to research articles but they recommend sending out to 18 article directories – I guess that was whittled down from 80 directories. Anyway only 2 of the ones they suggest actually work correctly and don’t destroy your hyperlinks. So therefore I can only use part of the program. Also, their doc to PDF conversion is very limited in nature. Lucky for me I have a better one.

Ezine Articles is just too big. Nobody will ever look at what you publish and they have a rather snotty attitude – sort of like IBM in the old days where if you didn’t like what IBM had they pretty much told you to ‘stuff it where the sun doesn’t shine.’ If IBM was on the ball and not so snot nosed elitist, Bill Gates and his Microsoft team would be just a footnote in the IBM corporate structure.

Another analogy is MA Bell. What arrogance they had.

Besides this program slurps up from Ezine Articles in text form and gives me 40 articles to rewrite in 8 seconds. That’s worth $50. To me. A lot of time you just need a nudge and push in the right direction and Commission Autopilot helps. But it is not enough and I can see others who use it all over the directories. Their articles look like crap.

In conclusion, I will say that what I have described is better that using article spinners. None of them really do enough and it takes about the same time to write the article in the first place. Those articles are so obviously flawed. If I would not pay any attention to the ones I see, how could I expect others to think it would be great if I did it?

DO NOT USE ADSENSE EMPIRE Al Forsberg copyright © 2012

I will keep this post very short, but others should be aware of what harm this program can do to its user. Adsense Empire is one of those sites making outrageous claims of making $40,000. Per month with Adsense. Ok, So I was the dope who got that program – paid for it – and instead of making any money with it, I have been banned from using Adsense under that (my) name. I don’t know what it did, except that it severely pissed-off people at Google.

If you are ever asked to get that program – RUN. I don’t know if the guy who says he invented it is a crook or not, but I sure can prove that I was stupid enough to pay money for the privilege of getting banned from using Adsense. After all, the Adsense revenue could add up to at least 2 cups of coffee at a local diner.

Adsense is all well and good if you have a business that gets 200,000 targeted visits or more per month. (that’s visits, not hits). There are plenty of those, but none of those people read blogs or Hub pages, etc.

I just did a Google on the phrase and found a whole bunch of people trying to promote either Adsense Empire, or Instant Adsense Empire. It’s all written by the same person – who never really made anything remotely close to what he says. There is even 1rocket scientist who is bragging about the ability to add ‘infolinks’. Did you ever see a site with infolinks? What CRAP. I personally hate those things and find them to be annoying. I would rather pay more money to someone else, and never stay for more than ½ second on any site with infolinks.

I will quote from SEOBlackHat.com whose webmaster wrote:

“I remember hearing once that you can get at least something of value out of most books. Whoever said that clearly never had his hard drive infected by the “e-book” Google Adsense Handbook – Building your own Adsense Empire.

Reading Adsense Empire is like taking a long bus ride sitting next to someone who bathed in sh¡t – it’s not just bad, it’s repugnant and offensive. Even the most devout masochist would undoubtedly find the torture of reading this ebook unbearable.

Would I recommend the Adsense Empire ebook? I would sooner send a friend an Ebola coated CD that executes root delete on boot and post Sh¡zer videos of his grandmother than willingly expose him to this abomination.”

It will also force you to scrub your hard drive several times over. The one I’m talking about is the program that make a variety of web pages all with Adsense links on them and also provides content for the sites. DO NOT GET IT.

I have checked out all the people and products I recommend on http://www.pgaprogolfer.com and hate to think that a few idiots may ruin it for the rest of us by their intentional action. In fact, Dave Guindon has a very liberal money back guarantee – and you could still keep all his free stuff. No disrespect, Dave, but I’ve sometimes received as much or more benefit from all of the bonuses. Anyway I’ll throw in a plug for his Mobile Blueprints, if just to show off my triple encrypted Bit.ly link.

Happy New Year from pgaprogolfer.com

Did you know that Click Bank doesn’t always pay? A. Forsberg copyright © 2012.

For those new affiliate marketers who are relatively new and just starting to promote many different products you should be aware of the following: No matter what you set your threshold of payment at (10. – 100.), CB will default to the $100. mark and not pay you until there are enough people buying to show CB that you are not trying to bid on your own links.

This happened to me last year when I had about a dozen or more different products I was promoting via web site and blog…mostly the MU blogs which were popular then but almost nonexistent now. I sold 2 of everything with my commissions to be about $34.oo for each sale. $34.x 2 = $68.; and $68.x 14= $952. – money I still have not received from CB.

BUT, Click Bank does charge me $1. Per sale per month until they are “satisfied” that I am legitimate. In my mind, this is fraud and is intentionally stealing from everyone who starts out. It should be illegal.

I know there are hundreds of thousands of people in that position. Consider just 80,000 people as a conservative figure. Everything else being the same that would amount to $76,160,000.00 that Click Bank is stealing from struggling Americans. The reverse is not true, however, because the owner of the product gets paid in full without having to pay ANY affiliate commissions. Of course they cover themselves in legal clauses, but what they told me was that “More than 1 credit card has to be used” – for each affiliate product is the assumption.

And it gets worse because they refuse – and will tell you so – to have anyone look into the problem. “It’s all computer generated and we don’t have the time to research things in depth.” But they had the time and the money to pay someone to write and tell me this.

I am wondering if a class action suit against Click Bank is possible. I know the threshold in US Federal court is $75,000. as a minimum of claimed damages. I don’t see much of a difference between this and the credit card companies and Ma Bell who both used to add in things just because they thought most people were either too stupid and/or naive to know any better.

Anyway, what I am now doing different seems to work better. I use only 1 affiliate link and choose to represent 1 product of a similar type. What I mean by this is that although there are several very good mobile blogging or cell phone blue print, etc. programs I promote just the one I like best. That would be the product by Dave Guindon which you can find here. Dave has a great way of promoting in that he gives away more free stuff than anyone else. That’s where I got the IPhone emulator and was able to put my web site on it.

He will also give you a free mobile banner creator which is really cool. I’ll see if I can grab a few screenshots for you to look at.

Another thing I am doing right now is promoting some diet and exercise programs in other languages to appeal to people in countries where there is less competition. I’m not sure everyone has grasped that. Mike Geary has. None of these programs are expensive so who cares what country the person buying it comes from? Happy New Year from http://www.pgaprogolfer.com.

Don’t Use a Squeeze Page?

Al Forsberg © copyright 2012.

If you are a relatively new affiliate marketer, using a squeeze page to capture email addresses may be counterproductive or simply a waste of time. Squeeze pages require you to have an account at Aweber and this assumes that you have a budget for PPC Pay Per Click advertising. Get Response auto responder is simply not as good as Aweber for several reasons. Aweber is faster, more reliable and will get more messages through spam blocks.

Now there is a free auto responder called List Wire, but they require what is called a double opt-in. If you choose to advertise with mobile marketing, a single opt-in is preferred.

Here is my main point:

A prospective customer will HAVE to get into the list of the person who developed the program. Forcing this to happen twice is to anger that person into not buying. If I wouldn’t do it, why should I expect anyone else to do it? Now even if you DO get this prospective customer to be on a list. What are you going to do with it? You can’t send him offers for the very same or even similar thing with any hope of success. Most likely he will just ask to be removed from your list, which the auto responders will do at his request.

So when is using a squeeze page a good idea? Well, if you are able to bid on words (Adwords) then this is the way to get several lists. The successful affiliate marketers have MANY lists of 20,000. To 80,000 people and then they “cross pollinate”. In other words, if they get you on a list for mobile marketing, they may send you related offers or totally different, like wedding favors.

Last year I spoke to an advertising partner of Mike Geary who has a successful abs program/ebook, and was told that Mike spends over $250,000.00 per month in various Adwords campaigns. So naturally he gets on the first page in Google and does make a lot of money. He may spend 1 million to make 6 million. Good for him!! But I don’t have that kind of money nor do I know anyone willing to give me a start like that.

So what are my options (and possibly yours) ?

One way is to go with mobile marketing and place ads through ADMOB, use List Wire to start and then move to Aweber. If I use the Bit.ly links as I described in my last post, I will be able to see how many people clicked and this will let me know if Aweber is affordable at $19. per month.

I should mention that it might be better to select the option in ADMOB to have all your ads start right away instead of having them spread it out. To me this simply means that your hard earned money will be hitting cell phone at 3:30 in the morning. I may be wrong about this, but certainly won’t leave it up to them at their discretion.

Even further, it may be better to do a blitzkrieg to a selected group using all your money in a very specific time frame. If ADMOB won’t let you do this there are quite a few others to try – food for another Hub.

As I’m writing this, I’m seriously thinking about investing IN those companies, stock wise, that is.

The really good thing is that I can start with an a budget of $50.00. Try this on Adwords and see how far you get. Since I am posting to Hub Pages, I will give only 1 live link. And again, will include a picture of an IPhone with part of my web site on it. You can see from this example that you must compose your offers with brevity. Nobody is going to wait to see your “shocking report of 27 pages”.

Mobile marketers are more likely to buy right away as opposed to those on the internet. But you must do it correctly, and some of these programs tell you how. It’s not that difficult at all, and this is something that I not only have purchased myself, but something I am trying to jump into right away. My site is http://www.pgaprogolfer.com and the links to mobile marketing are mobile monopoly at http://j.mp/aof_35 , mobile blog money at http://j.mp/aof_33 , mobile blueprints at http://j.mp/aof_16 (Dave Guindon), mobile $ machine at http://j.mp/aof_17 , and local mobile at http://j.mp/aof_36 .

I am including Dave’s link because all the others try to make you listen to a 14 minute video…but when you attempt to leave the page, you will be given that ‘special offer’. This is called exit splash and was developed by Dave Guindon. You can find it at http://j.mp/aof_37.

Note: Mobile marketing is not the exact same as mobile blogging.

Encrypting Affiliate ‘Hop’ links copyright © aof 2011

Have you ever wondered the best way to encrypt your affiliate links, and do it for free? It took me several years to finally come up with the best combination of ways, having purchased many half good products which never really worked.

I have tried the one by Jim Edwards who I used to pay $77. Per month for advice when I was a newbie. I have also listened to Dave Guindon (whose videos I value) and M Jones who did The Affiliate Code. This last one was well presented but as you now know there are no more MU blogs as there were last year. (I had over 140 blogs then.)

Now I’m not talking about Php redirects at all. They work, But most of the time you eventually see the hoplink at the top of the page. Telling me that a cookie was placed on the visitors computer is pretty lame.

Several link shorteners also come to mind like TinyUrl, BudUrl, and Bit.ly. There are dozens by now. I just settled on Bit.ly. They give me tracking too. Now with TinyURL, I found that if I used Internet Explorer and examined the 1×1 pixel image I could see the whole affiliate (hop) link.

My combined method (which is free to anyone) allows you the ability to direct the person to ANY page on the internet. Sometimes the regular ad page is crap or they have a video as long as Ben Hur which take 10 minutes to load, etc. I can send them directly to the order page, or a squeeze page, or any page I want.

When you click on one of my affiliate links it usually appear as “hop=0” on the top of the page, and I have a Click Bank nickname like ‘notaffil’, so it appears as if there is no affiliate link on the order page either.

So here is how it’s done.

1) Go to ClickBank and select the product you want to represent and have them (CB) encrypt the link for you. Save this encrypted link! CB did not always encrypt these for you. They have come a long way.

2) Now go to Cloaker Buzz and download their free software. This is what I use to create an advanced link. You must enter the affiliate link from CB and on the next line enter the page you want customers to go to. You will be asked to save this and name it. This program then creates a page entitled xyz.htm, or whatever you want.

For me, it would be http://pgaprogolfer.com/localmobile.htm, for example.

3) Go to and register at BIT.ly.com (free) and have them shorten your link to, for example, http://j.mp/rVIvFg

And then you can further customize it to http://j.mp/aof_17. All of these links are live and will direct you to products which tell you how to make money with you cell phone. http://j.mp/aof_16. However I am only giving you one live link so it doesn’t appear as if I am being overly promotional. This link is to the product I bought from Dave Guindon. I like it because he gives you an IPhone emulator which allows you to preview your ads and see basically how they would appear on a mobile phone. The other ones are going to give you a long video to watch first. You can see what this looks like at the bottom of several pages on my site http://www.pgaprogolfer.com.

You really have to see how these look compared to others who don’t bother to take these few steps to protect their affiliate commission. Now about that,…You will always pay SOMEONE an affiliate commission even if you go directly to the main site. There is no getting around that. It might as well be me – or you, if you follow my advice. I am submitting this to HUB and will try to include a picture of what the IPhone Emulator looks like.

This is a repeat because my Word Press got hacked.

Try this for reaching out to 5 billion mobile users.

Mobile browsers continue to be only 1% of current website traffic, but consider the demographics of mobile users who are educated, tech savvy and with a disposable income. Most mobile web browsing is done while commuting. This segment is the fastest growing market segment at the moment, with cellular devices, doubling every few months.

Mobile Marketing App?

Almost all smart phones now use GPS to give users their current location. Reebok released a free app that allowed sports individuals to track their location, consequently giving more info for their coaches. This creates involvement and interaction directly with the brand. The possibilities for mobile marketing applications are almost endless. When you combine GPS with WIFI, you could have location based marketing as a result of the area, direction and speed of travel.

SMS marketing?

McDonald’s, “send an SMS to Santa and receive your gift within seconds”. This led to a stunning 25% response rate – more than 1.5 million participations in five weeks. They promoted using unique codes on cups for consumers to send a text message – right in the restaurant. Each code would be a winner – for the first time with physical prices.

Mobile marketing is the next great pathway to customer acquisition and retention. Business promote their products utilizing a wide range of SMS marketing initiatives, including SMS coupon delivery, customer notification of specials and purchasers, event based SMS advertising they are driving event participation and much more.

Avoiding Basic Mobile Marketing Mistakes

Mobile Marketing is cool. But it’s still new and there are a handful of simple rookie mistakes that you want to prevent.

Here they are:

1. Approaching a Mobile Marketing Campaign Like an E-mail marketing Campaign.

Unlike an email recipients sitting at their computers, mobile users don’t wish to download your entire twenty seven-page Shocking Report. Instead, they’re searching for quick information. Remember, a lot of their Mobile” time is spent… Mobile. To operate a vehicle… right? Keep your message simple, like you were designing a PPC ad. It’s not that difficult and you will laser focus the interest of your mobile audience much better.

2. Not “Targeting” A crowd

Mobile marketing with texts only works when you send the right content to people. Some business people and marketers result in the mistake of treating text messaging just like a mass marketing media rather than the targeting tool it had been intended to be.

Mobile marketing campaigns are best used on your existing customer base. These folks happen to be familiar with you and should have already opted-in for your SMS list. Your messages is going to be welcome and given attention.

3. Hard Selling in a Text

Mobile is a great way to connect to consumers, but your really only have about 150 characters approximately that you’re working with… right. So consider it, if all your communication with an audience is centered on the hard-sell, chances are you will annoy the heck out of individuals who will turn a deaf ear to other things you have to say later on. When the recipients are a part of a properly opted in list, they’ll simply opt out. Why bother?

Remember, improving customer retention will help you build more profitability inside your business, so remember to concentrate on building relationships together with your customers. Should you choose that, the sales follows.

4. Using Mobile Marketing Alone

While mobile marketing campaigns work when utilized on their very own, they pack even more power when they are included in a general online marketing strategy. If you are using internet marketing, email marketing, as well as TV ads and newspaper ads, mobile marketing can be a perfect fit to integrate into those methods.

For example, you are able to send text messages with links to specific mobile landing pages that have a coupon awaiting your customer. Not just that, however, you may even add your business’s QR (Quick Response Code) for your other advertising campaigns. Consumers can scan your QR code using their mobile phones and become taken right to your website, receive an immediate coupon, as well as have a virtual tour of your business via a simple YouTube video!

5. Using One-Way SMS Marketing

Mobile marketing is a good way to communicate back and forth with consumers, but many businesses utilize it like a boring one-way communication channel. Such a huge mistake! Mobile marketing is definitely an easy method to connect with consumers rather than “sell” for them.

Your list will appreciate this more and seem like you are building a relationship together. Once you produce a good rapport with your list they’ll purchase of your stuff.

For example, you are able to connect to them by asking these phones email in an idea for something associated with your business. Simply send them a text asking for their help and give them an email link, or perhaps a connect to a survey in the text message. They will feel more engaged and you will be more receptive to all of your marketing and sales efforts should you mix it up a bit and allow them to engage you in a conversation.
